Properties of Gemstones

Of the Holistic Healing Methods, crystals and gemstones are considered healing tools in energy medicine. They have been used for centuries in just about any culture you can think of.

Here are just a few of them and the healing properties associated with them.

Purple Amethyst is the most recommended stone for stress relief. It is also an ancient detoxifying stone. Amethyst can help you if you have trouble sleeping or need relief from emotional or physical pain.

Green Aventurine is particularly effective for emotional healing and is especially helpful when worn for this purpose. (Green is the color of healing.) Aventurine is sometimes referred to as the "all-purpose" healer, meaning it is good for healing on all levels: emotional, mental, spiritual, and physical.

Clear Quartz is the Master Healer and the "stone of power." It is said to resonate with the tissues and fluids in the body, realigning them to their natural state. Clear Quartz is used extensively in several holistic therapies. Quartz is used in clusters during meditation, in the energy healing practice of Reiki, to cleanse the aura and to balance the Chakras.

Rose Quartz promotes emotional healing, calms stress, dissolves fear and helps rid you of anger. It is ogten used to heal childhood trauma, lack of love and feelings of low self-esteem.

Sodalite, a blue stone flecked with white, is known for balancing energy levels and blood sugar levels. It can also be helpful in cleansing the organs and boosting the immune system.

Tiger's Eye, a brown stone marked with bands of yellow, helps with anxiety and fear. It boosts confidence and willpower, helping you think more clearly by keeping you grounded and centered.

I know these are just a few of the crystals and gemstones available for healing purposes, but they are too numerous to get into in this post. Perhaps I can add to this list at a later date.

Stay healthy and happy,
Liz
